“Concrete Canvas has been awarded funding for two ground breaking projects from the Welsh Government’s SmartCymru programme, which is backed by £27m of European Union funds. This matched funding has been critical in enabling Concrete Canvas to conduct two significant, innovative and industry changing research projects. The first project represents the culmination of seven years’ work to develop the next generation of GCCM technology and pioneer the production systems to make this revolutionary class of materials. The second project has enabled the ongoing development of novel class of cementitious devices that build on Concrete Canvas’s know how to solve a significant technological challenge in the drilling industry, this project is currently in the testing phase before customer trials. Thanks to the Welsh Government, the new set of equipment will allow CC to perform chemical resistance testing to allow CC to be used in wider range of environments (chemical compounds). The use of microscopy will open totally new areas of research and quality assurance that are currently not possible to. Without this critical support from the Welsh Government and the European Union for innovation, research and risk taking these cutting edge projects would not have been commercially possible.”
